Dynamic Pricing with Point Redemption

چکیده
Problem definition: Reward points function as a new currency that consumers can spend on products and services. We study how point redemption affects the seller’s day-to-day pricing inventory decisions. Academic/practical relevance: Despite widespread use of redemption, little has been done its implication operational This paper extends revenue management literature to incorporate impact provides managerial insights seller factor into decisions about price inventory. Methodology: develop choice model in which consumer chooses pay with cash or based attributes reservation price, balance, perceived value point. this dynamic where adjusts along availability required amount. Results: show effect is nontrivial, optimal tilts upward downward reimbursement rate (the compensatory for reward sale) depending level, time, rate. Furthermore, such adjustments attenuate markup/markdown reducing fluctuation derived by policy absence sales. find operationalizing sales some discretionary policies (e.g., control over requirement) considerably increase revenue. Managerial implications: Our results guide sellers manage prices dynamically when redeem purchases. Specifically, we benefit from allowing even substantially lower than price. Although benefits having full greatest be realized via availability.

Integration of dynamic pricing and overselling with opportunistic cancellation
Abstract We extend the concept of dynamic pricing by integrating it with “overselling with opportunistic cancellation” option, within the framework of dynamic policy. Under this strategy, to sell a stock of perishable product (or capacity) two prices are offered to customers at any given time period. Customers are categorized as high-paying and low-paying ones. The seller deliberately oversel...
متن کاملAsset Pricing with Dynamic Programming
The study of asset price characteristics of stochastic growth models such as the riskfree interest rate, equity premium and the Sharpe-ratio has been limited by the lack of global and accurate methods to solve dynamic optimization models. In this paper a stochastic version of a dynamic programming method with adaptive grid scheme is applied to compute the asset price characteristics of a stocha...
متن کاملDynamic Pricing with Demand Covariates
We consider a firm that sells a product over T periods without knowing the demand function. The firm sequentially sets prices to earn revenue and to learn the underlying demand function simultaneously. In practice, this problem is commonly solved via greedy iterative least squares (GILS). At each time period, GILS estimates the demand as a linear function of the price by applying least squares ...
متن کاملDynamic Pricing with Periodic Review and a Finite set of Prices with Cancellation
In this paper, three dynamic pricing models are developed and analyzed. We assume a limited number of a particular asset is offered for sale over a period of time. This asset is perishable and can be an inventory or a manufacturing capacity. During each period, the seller sets a price for this asset. This price is selected from a predetermined discrete set. The maximum amount which a customer i...
